The concert season 2023/24 began with a cracking curated collection of Nordic music. Some in Latin, some in scattin’ (some in Danish, Swedish and English too!).
HURLINGHAM CLUB · PRESTIGIOUS ARTS FESTIVAL IN LONDON
London Nordic Choir was asked to take over the proverbial baton from Jonathan Ratcliffe for the Choral Contrast concert at the Hurlingham Festival 2022.
HUGO ALFVÉN · CHORAL HOMAGE
To celebrate one of the great Scandinavian composers, the choir performed a 150th jubilee concert featuring Alfvén, Stenhammar, Peterson-Berger, Wikander et al.
LUX MUNDI · FREDRIK SIXTEN*
The world premiere of the new choral piece by Fredrik Sixten, set to be performed in both London and Stockholm, was unfortunately postponed due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
The London Nordic Choir commissioned a choral piece by composer Fredrik Sixten, together with The English Baroque Choir . With the intent to inspire hope, unity & compassion his response, Lux Mundi, is a breath-taking journey in three movements, Faith, Hope & Love, filled with exquisite harmonies, soaring melodies & intricate rhythms.
* Fredrik Sixten is a Swedish composer, cathedral organist and conductor. He earned his Bachelor of Arts at the Royal College of Music, Stockholm, and is recognised as one of Sweden's best-known composers of church music.
